Sotheby’s is a major British auction house, which works with artwork and collectible pieces. It currently has several offices around the world. On December 10, Sotheby’s held a sale of English and Irish art that included paintings, drawings and watercolors of a large number of artists. The styles that were present were: Pre-Raphaelites and the Classical Revival, British Impressionists, Colourists, Ruralists and Contemporary Scottish and Irish art. The centerpiece of the event was the Venus Verticordia by Dante Gabriel Rossetti.
