ENERGY DUCK, BETWEEN THE SCULPTURAL AND THE FUNCTIONAL

This year, a group of artists and designers presented a sculptural project called Energy Duck in the Land Art Generator Initiative, which was designed to convert solar radiation – through its plumage built with photovoltaic panels –, into electrical energy. The idea of the sculpture is to honor the fauna of Copenhagen, hence it has the form of a duck of the region, which swims through hydraulic turbine generating energy, which may also be collected. Thus, both people responsible for the design (Hareth Pochee, Adam Khan, Louis Leger and Patrick Fryer), as the creators of the project (LAGI), seeking creative and motivate producers to gestate sculptural projects that are not only contemplative , but also to be functional and environmentally friendly.
