The documentary film The director: an evolution in three acts, first performed in 2013, recounts the evolution of fashion designer Frida Giannini from her beginning until get the creative direction of the Italian luxury brand Gucci.
The documentary film directed by Christina Boros and produced by James Franco, is divided into three stages: the past, where is presented the commercial success of the first collection of Giannini in the brand’s department of accessories, event that took her to be appointed as Creative Director; the present, in which is displayed the design process of one of her collections, and the production of a runway into the fashion week; and the future, where Giannini explains Gucci’s expansion plans towards eastern countries like China.
The Director offers an approach to the designer in a personal way through interviews and testimonies of the members of her staff and family, as well as behind scenes of the production of her collections.
