To end January, the National Film Archive, with the support of the French Embassy in Mexico, is proud to present the Retrospective Pierre Étaix, from January 24 to 29 in Hall 8, Hermanos Rodriguez of the National Film Archive. The cycle that celebrates the career of this French clown with a selection of four features and three shorts, his full work, will feature Étaix himself, coming to Mexico to share his experiences in the film industry with the public.
Pierre Étaix’s life, one of the leading French comedian in the history, has been dedicated to his greatest passion: the circus, discipline succeeded prodigiously adapt to cinema, fertile ground for the development of a style marked by humor in its purest form. Étaix cinema, is a cinema full of visual and physical sight gags, grounded primarily in the use of body and minimal use of dialogue, all in the service of a social critic and background.
