Julien Douvier is a young photographer just 24 years old from Strasbourg, who previously studied the degree of Graphic Designer specializing in the area Editorial and Advertising in France.
Lately, most of his photographic work has focused on developing cinemagraph projects, a technique that consists in the sample of a photographic record within which is an area that is repetitive and in continuous movement (loop).
Douvier argues that one of the main qualities of his production is that the quality of his images and sequences have to be significant, implying investment of time when it comes to post-production of the shots.
About his work Julien Douvier explains: Gifs have some limits, but they are easy to display on various electronic devices using internet, when they are done right and doesn’t weigh too much. But it’s possible to render these images in other formats, like standard video files for instance. It’s also possible to display locally these images without internet on larger screens, as HD video files, without the drawback of Gif files. No animation duration limit, no file size limit, no color limit…
