Chris Maynard is an American artist and biologist who currently lives in Olympia, Washington. Maynard has worked since the age of 12 with feathers, however it was until 2010 that he began to show his work. He uses scissors to eyes, forceps and magnifying glass to create beautiful compositions of birds. His main material: feathers, all acquired legally in aviaries or zoos. The artist believes that the feathers are one of the great achievements of nature, as well as serving to fly, their colors and designs are endless, allowing the birds to hide they find its own pair. Each bird is for its own feather, for example if the image represents a hummingbird, means that the feather comes from one of these kind of birds.
