8,089 color pencils form this installation entitled Centennial Chromograph. This piece has as an objective to represent the history of University of Minnesota, specifically the school of architecture. Variable Projects studio used a wood structure, done by pieces joined by color pencils. The shape of wood seeks to reflect the importance of the school history. For example, in the middle is a curved wood piece protruding from the others, with the aim to mark the first 30 years of the University’s architecture school.
