The architectural firm Behnisch Architekten and Jantzen Studio have teamed up to create the project “City of Santa Monica Parking Structure #6”. This parking lot is located in one of the busiest areas of the coastal in Los Angeles, California. The architects felt that the site should be fun and dynamic, as it is surrounded by shops, beautiful natural scenery, people sunbathing, biking or running. The building has walls and white stripes in red, yellow and orange protruding from the main structure; stairs protrude from the facade painted in red. The panels are not only attractive, but are designed to redirect the sunlight to keep the site fresh.
