AMPLIFIED SOUND IN A BAMBOO

The furniture designer Ignacio Franz and the anthropologist Koh Onazawa developed the idea of taking advantage of a bamboo to create a horn or speaker fo iPhone or iPod. This device, called Loudbasstard does not have electrical component so it does not require electricity to amplify the sound. It is manufactured and dyed by hand with special techniques of the community in Cebu, Philippines. Ignacio Franz initially had the idea of offering quality and design and Onazawa wanted to help  Filipino community. The project Loudbasstard began as an idea to create a casing for iPhone. Coincidentally one night Koh’s girlfriend, used a cup to amplify the sound of her own, realizing that with the void, the sound is amplified, witty, no?
