Amber Cowan is a sculptor whose favorite material is glass, and which has worked for over twelve years. The artist has studies on glass and ceramics at the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, and 3D design specializing in glass at the University of Salisbury.
She currently works on pieces whose creation process involves working with flame, heat blowing and sculpture from recycled glass. Most glass pieces that Amber Cowan reuses, come from objects manufactured between 1940 and 1980. These objects were found in antique stores, flea markets and bazaars and then were processed by heat in objects of complex and organic textures.
